Simple Log Service:Maps

Simple Log Service provides a map of China and a world map. You can use these maps to visualize the geographic distribution of log data, such as the locations of users in China or across the globe. This topic describes the configurations for maps.

Introduction

You can display geographic data using colors and marks on a map background. After you use specific functions in a query statement, Simple Log Service displays the analysis results on a map. Use the ip_to_province function for the map of China and the ip_to_country function for the world map.

General configurations

You can configure global settings for the map.

  • Basic configuration

    Parameter

    Description

    Title

    You can set the title of the map.

    Display Title

    Turn on the Display Title switch to show the title on the map.

    Display Border

    Turn on the Display Border switch to show the border on the map.

    Display Background

    Turn on the Display Background switch to show the background color on the map.

    Display Time

    Turn on the Display Time switch to show the query time on the map.

    Fixed Time

    Turn on the Fixed Time switch to fix the query and analysis time. The time is not affected by the global time of the dashboard.

  • Standard configuration

    Description

    Format

    The display format for numbers.

    Unit

    The unit for numbers.

    Decimal Places

    The number of decimal places for numbers.

    Display Name

    You can modify the display name.

    Color Scheme

    You can select the color scheme for the map.

  • Map configuration

    Parameter

    Description

    Enable Scroll to Zoom

    Set to Yes to allow map scaling by scrolling the mouse wheel.

    Enable Dragging

    Set to Yes to allow dragging the map with the mouse.

  • Query and analysis settings

    Parameter

    Description

    Data Type

    The type of data to display on the map. Supported types are Region, Latitude and Longitude, and Latitude,Longitude. The default type is Region.

    Region (or Region Code)

    Select the field that represents the region.

    The field value can also be a code that represents a region or country, such as 330000.

    Value Column

    Select the field that provides the numeric values.

    Additional Information

    Select the field that provides additional information.

  • Legend configuration

    Parameter

    Description

    Display Legend

    Turn on the Display Legend switch to show the legend on the map.

    Sorting

    The sorting order for the legend.

    Legend Position

    You can set the position of the legend.

    Action

    The action to perform when a legend item is clicked.

    • Single selection: When you click a legend item, only the data for that item is displayed on the map.

    • Switch: When you click a legend item, the data for that item is hidden. Click the item again to show the data.

    Max Width (Height) %

    The maximum width and height of the legend.

  • Variable substitution

    Parameter

    Description

    Variable substitution

    Variable substitution adds a variable-type filter to the chart. After configuration in General configurations, a filter appears in the upper-left corner of the chart. When you select a value, Simple Log Service replaces the variable in the query statement and reruns the analysis. Example 2: Set variable substitution.

    Set custom document links or descriptions. After configuration, the information is displayed in the upper-right corner of the map.

Field configuration

You can configure personalized visualization settings for the results of a single query or for a single data column in the results. For descriptions of the configuration items, see General configurations.

For example, A > count configures the count field in the results of Query A. Set Standard Configurations > Unit to Custom: item.
