If you no longer need a Simple Application Server instance, you can manually release it after it expires, or submit an unsubscription (refund) request before it expires. This topic describes the procedure to manually release an instance and the procedure to unsubscribe from an instance.
Unsubscribe from an instance
If the instance is still within its validity period and you no longer need it, you can apply for a refund on the resource unsubscription page of the User Center.
Preparations.
Before you unsubscribe from the resource, make sure that the Simple Application Server instance does not store data that you still need, or that the required data has already been backed up or migrated.
WarningAfter you unsubscribe from an instance, the custom images of the instance are deleted at the same time. The unsubscription cannot be undone. To retain a custom image, you can first Share a custom image to ECS and then Copy a custom image in the ECS console, or Copy a custom image in the Simple Application Server console.
Apply for self-service unsubscription.
On the Resource Unsubscription page, on the Unsubscribe Resource tab, click the Select Standard Cloud Resource tab.
Filter the resources by product name, instance ID, and order time. Find and select the resources that you want to unsubscribe from, and then click Unsubscribe Resource or Unsubscribe Resources in Batches to start the unsubscription.
Release an instance
Prerequisites:
The instance is in the Expired state.
Back up your data before you release the instance.
Back up data to a local device
Use a transfer tool, such as FTP, to download your data to your local device.
Back up data to an ECS instance
Migrate your data to an ECS instance. For details, see Migrate data from a Simple Application Server instance to an ECS instance.
After the instance expires, you can manually release the instance in the Simple Application Server console.
Releasing an instance also permanently deletes its associated snapshots and custom images. The data cannot be recovered. To retain a custom image, you can first Share a custom image to ECS and then copy it as an independent custom image in the ECS console, or copy the image to another region in the Simple Application Server console.
