Create, update, or delete product versions to manage multiple Terraform or Resource Orchestration Service (ROS) templates for a product.
Prerequisites
- An administrator has Service Catalog administrator permissions. Grant permissions to an administrator.

A product is created. For more information, see Create a product.
Create a product version
When a product is created, a baseline version is automatically generated. To use a different Terraform or ROS template, create a new version for the product.
- Log on to the Service Catalog console as the administrator.
- In the left-side navigation pane, choose .

On the Product management page, click the name of the target product.

On the Product version tab, click Create new version.

On the Create new version page, configure the following settings.

Enter a Version name.

Enter a Product version description.

Select a creation method.
You can select Custom or Getting Started Example to quickly create a product by using a custom template or a Getting Started Example template.

Upload a custom template or select a sample template.

View the template content.

Terraform template: In the File List View, view the files and content included in the template. In the Parameter View, configure attributes for the parameters in the template, including basic properties, validation rules, and options.

ROS template: View the template content in JSON and YAML formats.

Click Parameter preview to verify that the parameter configuration meets your requirements.

Click Confirm.
Update a product version
Modify the name, description, and recommendation information of an existing product version.

When a product version is updated, the update is automatically applied to all product portfolios that contain the product.

To prevent end users from using a specific product version, you can disable it.
- In the left-side navigation pane, choose .

On the Product management page, click the name of the target product.

On the Product version tab, in the row for the target product version, click Edit in the Operation column.

In the Modify product information dialog box, configure the following parameters and click Confirm.

Enter a name for the product version to identify it.

Update the specifications of an ECS instance.
Recommended information
Select the recommendation information for the product version. Valid values:

Recommendation: the recommended version for end users.

Latest: the version with the latest features. This version may be unstable.

Abandoned: a version that is about to be deprecated and is not recommended for end users.

None (default): no recommendation information is provided.

Whether or not to deactivate
Specifies whether to enable the product version. Valid values:

Deactivate
Activate.

Delete a product version
Before you delete a product version, make sure that it is no longer in use. If you delete a version that is still in use, end users can no longer manage the product of that version. If the product is added to a product portfolio, the version is also removed from the portfolio. Proceed with caution.
- In the left-side navigation pane, choose .

On the Product management page, click the name of the target product.

On the Product version tab, in the row for the target product version, click Delete in the Operation column.

In the Delete version dialog box, verify the information for the target product version, then click Confirm.
