Service Catalog:Manage product instances

Last Updated:Jun 16, 2026

Administrators can manage all product instances created by end users under the current account. When an end user resigns or changes positions, you can take over their instances to prevent service interruption.

Prerequisites

View information about a product instance

  1. Log on to the Service Catalog console as the administrator.
  2. In the navigation pane on the left, click Instances.

  3. On the Instances page, click the Access filter drop-down list in the upper-right corner and select Account.

  4. Click the name of the product instance whose information you want to query.

    • Product instance information

Product instance ID, Instance status, Owner, Created time, Product name, Version name, Product ID, Version ID, Stack region, and Resource stack ID.

      Note

When an end user launches a product and deploys the product instance in a region, a stack is created in the same region and displayed in the Resource Orchestration Service (ROS) console.

    • Tasks

On the Tasks tab, you can view the Task ID, Task Type, Version name, Version ID, Created time, and Task status. You can also perform the following operations:

      • Click View output to view the output resources.

      • Click Parameter to view the parameter information.

      • Click Log to view the logs.

        Note

For an instance in an abnormal state, the task status is Failed, and you cannot view its logs. For more information about the causes of instance state errors, see What do I do if an instance fails to be created?.

    • Resources

On the Resources tab, you can view the resources in the instance, including Resource Name/Resource Type, Resource ID, Resource status, and Description.

    • Tags

On the Tags tab, you can view the keys and values of tags attached to the product instance.

    • Plans

On the Plans tab, you can view the approval plans for the instance, including PlanID, OperationType, PlanName, Owner, PlanStatus, and Description.

Update a product instance

Modify the launch options, product version, and parameter settings to update a product instance.

  1. Click Update in the Operation column of the target instance.

  2. Update the Product version and parameter settings for the instance, and then click Next.

  3. Review the product, instance, and parameter information, and then click Update instance.

After the instance is updated, a new task whose Task Type is Update instance appears on the instance details page.

Terminate a product instance

Terminating a product instance removes it from the instance list and makes it unmanageable. Proceed with caution.

  1. Click Terminate in the Operation column of the target instance.

  2. In the Terminate product instance dialog box, enter Terminate and click Terminate instance.
