A template constraint allows you to configure a specific constraint for each parameter that is defined in the product template. When an end user launches the product, the system verifies the specified values for the parameters based on the specified template constraint. If a value does not meet the template constraint, the product cannot be launched.

Procedure

  1. Log on to the Service Catalog console as the administrator.
  2. In the left-side navigation pane, choose Administrator > Portfolio management.
  3. On the Portfolio management page, click the name of the product portfolio in which you want to create a constraint.
  4. Click the Constraints tab, and then click Create constraint.
  5. On the Create constraint page, configure the parameters.
    1. Select a product from the Products drop-down list.
    2. In the Constraint description field, enter a description for the constraint.
    3. In the Constraint type section, select Template Constraint.
    4. In the Constraint setting section, click Add new rule.
    5. In the Add rule dialog box, configure the following parameters and click OK.
      • Rule name: You can specify a custom name. If you select Automatic generate, the system automatically generates a name.
      • Rule description: Enter a description for the rule.
      • Product version: Select a product version for which you want to specify the constraint.
      • Parameters: Select the parameters for which you want to specify the constraint.
      • Parameter value: Use a regular expression to limit the values of the parameters.

      In the Rule list section, click Edit or Delete in the Operation column of a rule to modify or delete the rule.

  6. Click Confirm.
