If an ApsaraDB for SelectDB instance expires or has overdue payments, the instance may fail to run as expected. If you want to continue to use the instance, renew the instance or enable the auto-renewal feature for the instance at the earliest opportunity.
If your ApsaraDB for SelectDB instance expires or has overdue payments, the instance may become unavailable. In this case, Alibaba Cloud sends notifications to you. To prevent service interruptions, we recommend that you renew the ApsaraDB for SelectDB instance or add funds to your Alibaba Cloud account at the earliest opportunity.
Impacts of expiration of a subscription instance
After a subscription ApsaraDB for SelectDB instance expires, impacts occur during different periods. The following table describes the impacts during different periods.

Impacts of overdue payments of a pay-as-you-go instance
If an Alibaba Cloud account has an overdue payment, all pay-as-you-go instances under that account will enter an overdue state. The consequences for an overdue pay-as-you-go instance vary over time. The details are described below.
