Dear Alibaba Cloud users,
Alibaba Cloud Security Center plans to upgrade the anti-ransomware agent for databases in the regions of China (Beijing), China (Shenzhen), China (Hong Kong), China (Hohhot), Singapore, and Australia (Sydney) (Closing down) on September 28, 2024 (UTC+8) to improve the stability of the anti-ransomware backup service.
Upgrade details
On September 28, 2024 (UTC+8), all anti-ransomware agent for databases in the specified regions is upgraded to the latest version. During the upgrade, your backup tasks may fail. If you encounter any issue or need further assistance during the upgrade, you can submit a ticket to contact us.
The anti-ransomware agent for databases in other regions have already been upgraded.
What are the risks of this upgrade?
Your database backup tasks may fail during the upgrade. Therefore, Security Center provides subscription service for task notifications. When an anti-ransomware backup task fails, Security Center will send you a message by email, or internal message. You can follow the steps below to check the subscription details of the Anti-ransomware Task Results to receive timely notifications.

Log on to the Security Center console. In the top navigation bar, choose the region of the asset that you want to manage. You can choose China or Outside China.

In the left-side navigation pane, choose .

On the Notification Settings page, click the Email/Internal Message tab, and check or configure Anti-ransomware Task Results.

How do I check whether an anti-ransomware policy for databases is affected by this upgrade?

Log on to the Security Center console. In the top navigation bar, choose the region of the asset that you want to manage. You can choose China or Outside China.

In the left-side navigation pane, choose .

On the Anti-ransomware for Databases tab of the Anti-ransomware page, view the status of the required anti-ransomware policy in the Agent Status column.
If the agent status is Installed and the servers in the policy are located in the China (Beijing), China (Shenzhen), China (Hong Kong), China (Hohhot), Singapore, and Australia (Sydney) (Closing down) regions, the agent is within the scope of this upgrade. If not, it remains unaffected.
