How to create a resource management scenario - Resource Orchestration Service

Create a resource management scenario to import existing resources into a single stack for centralized management.

Background information

When you create a resource management scenario, Resource Orchestration Service (ROS) scans all resources within a specified scope and generates their architecture and property information. You can import these resources to create a stack and manage them as a group. The created stack is displayed on the Stacks tab of the resource scenario management page.

Step 1: create a resource scenario

Log on to the ROS console.
In the left-side navigation pane, click Scenarios.
In the top navigation bar, select the region where your resources are located from the region drop-down list.
On the Scenarios page, click Create Scenario.
In the Create Scenario dialog box, enter a description for the scenario and select Resource Management as the scenario type.
Select the resource scope.
- Select resources by tag
  1. In the Method section, select Source Tag.
  2. In the Source Tag section, set the Tag Key and, optionally, the Tag Value.
    
    Note
    Enter the tags of your existing resources. You can specify up to 10 tags.
  3. (Optional) In the Resource Type section, select one or more Resource Types.
    
    You can select up to 15 resource types.
- Select resources by resource group
  1. In the Method section, select Source Resource Group.
  2. In the Source Resource Group section, select a resource group.
  3. (Optional) In the Resource Type section, select one or more Resource Types.
    
    You can select up to 15 resource types.
- Select specific resources
  1. In the Method section, select Source resource.
  2. In the Source resource section, select a Resource Types and a Resource ID.
    
    You can select up to 20 resource types.
In the configuration section, set the Delete Resource.
- Retain: Resources are kept when their stack is deleted.
- Delete: Resources are deleted by default when their stack is deleted. If you choose to retain specific resources in the confirmation dialog, ROS deletes only the unselected resources.
Set tags for the resource scenario.

Note
You can add up to 20 tags to the resource scenario.
Click Create.

After the resource scenario is created, its Status changes to Created.

Step 2: manage resources

On the Scenarios page, click the ID of the target resource scenario.
In the upper-right corner of the resource scenario management page, click Manage Resource.
Click Yes.
After the resources are successfully managed, click Disable.

Step 3: view resources

On the scenario management page, click the Stacks tab, and then click the ID of the stack.
On the stack management page, click the Resources tab to view the managed resources.
