Resource Orchestration Service:Step 4 (optional): Create stack instances

Procedure

1. Log on to the ROS console using the management account or a delegated administrator account of your Resource Directory.

   Note

   Use the same account that you used to create the stack group.

2. In the navigation pane on the left, click Stack Groups.

3. From the region drop-down list in the top navigation bar, select the region where your stack group is located.

4. On the Stack Groups page, click the name of the stack group.

5. In the upper-right corner of the page, choose View More > Add Stack.

6. On the Set Deployment Options page, configure the following parameters and click Next.

   Parameter	Description
   Resource Directories	ROS deploys stacks to all member accounts in the selected folders. If you add the Root folder, stack instances are created in all member accounts across your entire Resource Directory.
   Regions	The regions where you want to deploy the stacks.
   Maximum Number of Concurrent Accounts	The maximum number of accounts per region in which ROS concurrently deploys stacks. For more information about how to set this value, see Stack deployment settings.
   Fault Tolerance	The number of accounts per region in which a stack operation can fail before ROS stops the operation in that region. If the deployment is stopped in one region, ROS cancels deployments in the other specified regions. For more information about how to set this value, see Stack deployment settings.
   Region Concurrency	The concurrency type for deploying stack instances across regions. Sequential: Deploys stacks sequentially in the specified regions, one region at a time. Parallel: Deploys stacks in parallel across all specified regions.
   Expand modules in current account	This parameter applies only when the template uses modules. If you enable this option, the required modules must exist in the current account. Otherwise, the modules must exist in all target deployment accounts.

7. In the Specify Override Settings step, select the parameters that you want to override, use one of the following methods to reset the parameter values, and then click Next.

   • Method 1: Choose Edit Override Value > Override Stack Group Parameter Values to reset the parameter values.

   • Method 2: Choose Edit Override Value > Reset Override Field to reset the parameter values.

   Note

   After the stack instances are created, you can perform the following operations to view the reset parameter values: Log on to the ROS console with the execution account. On the Stacks page, click the ID of the stack for which you want to view the parameter values. On the Parameters tab, view the parameter values.

8. In the Check and Confirm step, check that the stack instance parameters are valid and click Add.

Results

After the stack instances are created, you can view their status. On the Stack Groups page, click the name of your stack group, and then click the Instance tab to view the status of each stack instance.

During stack deployment, the instance status is Expired. After the stacks are successfully deployed, the status changes to current. You can then log on to the ROS console using a member account to view the deployed stacks in each region. For more information, see Log on to the Alibaba Cloud Management Console as a member.
