After you create a stack group, you can update or delete its stack instances. This topic describes how to update and delete stack instances.
Update stack instances
Log on to the Resource Orchestration Service console.
In the navigation pane on the left, click Stack Groups.
In the top menu bar, select the region where the stack group is located from the drop-down list.
On the Stack Groups page, click Stack Group Name.
In the upper-right corner of the stack group page, choose .
On the Set Deployment Options page, configure the parameters for self-managed permissions or parameters for service-managed permissions.
On the Specify Override Settings page, select the parameters to override. Change their values using one of the following methods, and then click Next.
Method 1: Choose to reset the parameter values.
Method 2: Choose to enter new values.
NoteAfter the stack instances are created, you can view the new parameter values in the destination account (Account B). On the Stacks page, click the stack ID. The new parameter values are displayed on the Parameters tab.
On the Check and Confirm (Optional) page, click Override.
Delete a single stack instance
This procedure applies only to stack instances that are associated with a stack group that uses self-managed permissions.
Log on to the Resource Orchestration Service console.
In the navigation pane on the left, click Stack Groups.
In the top menu bar, select the region where the stack group is located from the drop-down list.
On the Stack Groups page, click Stack Group Name.
Click the Instances tab. In the row of the stack instance that you want to delete, click Delete.
In the dialog box that appears, select a Method to Delete the Stack and click OK.
Retain Resources: Deletes the stack instance but retains its associated resources.
Release Resources: Deletes the stack instance and its corresponding stack. Use this option with caution.
Delete multiple stack instances
Log on to the Resource Orchestration Service console.
In the navigation pane on the left, click Stack Groups.
In the top menu bar, select the region where the stack group is located from the drop-down list.
On the Stack Groups page, click Stack Group Name.
In the top-right corner of the stack group page, select .
On the Set Deployment Options page, configure the parameters for self-managed permissions or parameters for service-managed permissions.
On the Check and Confirm (Optional) page, click Delete.
Select a deletion method for the stack instances, and then click OK.
Retain Resources: Deletes the stack instances but retains their associated resources.
Release Resources: Deletes the stack instances and their corresponding stacks. Use this option with caution.
