    Resource Management:Assign new resources to a resource group

    Specify the resource group for a resource at creation time.

    Procedure

    Assign new resources to a resource group using either method:

    • Specify a resource group when you create a resource in the Alibaba Cloud console. Steps vary by service.

    • Specify a resource group parameter when you create a resource by calling an API operation. Steps vary by service.

    The following example shows how to specify a resource group when creating a virtual private cloud (VPC) in the VPC console.

    1. Log on to the VPC console.

    2. Create a VPC and specify a resource group.

      In the Resource Group and Tags section, set Resource Group to your target resource group, for example, Project A.

      Create and manage a VPC.

    If you do not specify a resource group at creation, the resource is assigned to the Default Resource Group. You can transfer it from the Default Resource Group to another resource group. Transfer resources between resource groups manually and Transfer resources between resource groups automatically.
