Resource Management:Remove a cloud account member

Last Updated:Jun 20, 2026

You can remove an Alibaba Cloud account that joined your resource directory by invitation. When you remove an invited member account, it becomes a standalone account.

Impact

When you remove a member account from your resource directory, the following occurs:

  • The account becomes a standalone Alibaba Cloud account and is no longer managed by the resource directory's management account.

Before you can use the account again, you must ensure that its security and identity verification information is complete.

  • The account's billing relationship does not change.

For example, if the cloud account's billing account in the Resource Directory is the management account, it remains the management account after removal. To change the billing account, see Finance Trusteeship.

  • The account is no longer subject to any control policies that were attached to it from the resource directory.

Before removing the account, you can review the control policies that are currently attached to it. For more information, see View the information of a member.

  • Any resources that were shared with the account through the resource directory's resource sharing are no longer accessible.

Before removing the account, you can log on to the member account to review its current resource shares. For more information, see View the details of a resource share and View the details of resource shares.

  • The account is removed from centralized management by any trusted services integrated with your resource directory.

For example, an organizational trail in ActionTrail will stop collecting logs from the removed account. For more information, see the documentation of each Alibaba Cloud service.

Prerequisites

The member that you want to remove is not a delegated administrator for a trusted service. To remove a member's delegated administrator access to specific cloud services, see Remove a delegated administrator account.

Procedure

  1. Log on to the Resource Management console with a management account.

  2. In the navigation pane on the left, choose Resource Directory > Management.

  3. On the Resource Organization View or Member List View tab, find the cloud account to remove and click image > Remove in the Actions column.

  4. In the Remove Member dialog box, review the impacts and click OK.
