Tair (Redis® OSS-Compatible):Enable the release protection feature for an instance

Last Updated:Mar 28, 2026

Release protection prevents pay-as-you-go Tair (Redis OSS-compatible) instances from being released accidentally through the console or API operations. Enable this feature on instances that run critical workloads to reduce the risk of accidental data loss.

Prerequisites

Before you begin, make sure that:

  • The instance is billed on a pay-as-you-go basis

Enable release protection

  1. Log on to the Tair and Redis console. In the top navigation bar, select the region where the instance resides. Find the instance and click its ID.

  2. In the Instance Status section, click the switch next to Instance Release Protection to turn it On.

Release protection is now active. The instance cannot be released from the console or through API operations while protection is enabled.

Disable release protection and release an instance

If you need to release an instance, disable release protection first.

  1. Log on to the Tair and Redis console. In the top navigation bar, select the region where the instance resides. Find the instance and click its ID.

  2. In the Instance Status section, click the switch next to Instance Release Protection to turn it Off.
