Impacts

As of October 31, 2022, global distributed cache of ApsaraDB for Redis instances that run Redis 4.0 will no longer be updated or maintained and will be phased out from the ApsaraDB for Redis console. Child instances of distributed instances are not affected. You can view child instances on the Instances page.

Suggestions

We recommend that you migrate your data to the new global distributed cache before October 31, 2022. To migrate data, you can perform the following steps:
Notice Upgrades and configuration changes cause transient connections. We recommend that you estimate the amount of time required to perform these operations and perform them during off-peak hours.
  1. Retain only a single child instance and release the remaining ones.
  2. Change the child instance into a performance-enhanced instance of the ApsaraDB for Redis Enhanced Edition (Tair). For more information, see Change the configurations of an instance.
  3. Create a distributed instance from the performance-enhanced instance. For more information, see Create a distributed instance by converting an ApsaraDB for Redis instance into the first child instance.
