Starting April 8, 2024, 00:15:30 (UTC+8), Alibaba Cloud reduces the prices of specific public cloud services that are deployed in regions outside the Chinese mainland. The public cloud services include ApsaraDB RDS for MySQL, ApsaraDB RDS for PostgreSQL, and ApsaraDB RDS for MariaDB.
The price adjustment applies to the discounted prices that are displayed on the official website and calculated based on a specific billing method and specific subscription durations. The price adjustment takes effect only for eligible orders that you place for additional purchase, renewal, and specification change after the effective date. If you signed an enterprise agreement with Alibaba Cloud public cloud before the effective date, you are charged the lower between the discounted price after the price adjustment and the discounted price specified in the enterprise agreement. In some cases, the price adjustment is not applicable to distributors and their users. Applicable scope
The price adjustment applies to the discounted prices that are displayed on the official website and calculated based on a specific billing method and specific subscription durations. The price adjustment takes effect only for eligible orders that you place for additional purchase, renewal, and specification change after the effective date. The following requirements must be met:
Your RDS instance is a primary or read-only RDS instance.
The RDS instance is a standard or YiTian instance that runs RDS High-availability Edition or RDS Cluster Edition and belongs to the general-purpose or dedicated instance family.
The RDS instance uses the subscription billing method.
The following order types are supported: creating a subscription RDS instance, renewing a subscription RDS instance, changing the billing method from pay-as-you-go to subscription, cloning a subscription RDS instance, changing specifications of a subscription RDS instance, and restoring a subscription RDS instance from the recycle bin.
The following regions are supported: China (Hong Kong), Singapore, Malaysia (Kuala Lumpur), Indonesia (Jakarta), Philippines (Manila), Thailand (Bangkok), Japan (Tokyo), South Korea (Seoul), US (Silicon Valley), US (Virginia), Germany (Frankfurt), UK (London), and UAE (Dubai).

The subscription duration of your order is 1 year, 2 years, 3 years, 4 years, or 5 years.
Price adjustment details
The discounted prices of subscription ApsaraDB RDS for MySQL, ApsaraDB RDS for PostgreSQL, and ApsaraDB RDS for MariaDB instances that run specific database engine versions and RDS editions are reduced. Additional discounts are offered for the computing resources and storage capacity of the instances. If you use the subscription billing method, Alibaba Cloud provides lower prices for longer subscription durations. This help lowers unit costs of resources. The discounted prices of the RDS instances that run specific database engine versions and RDS editions are reduced by up to 50%. The new discounted price decreases up to 70% off the original price.

The discounted price refers to the actual purchase price of the service, offered by the official website, which includes an automatic discount off the list price.
The actual price displayed on the official website shall prevail. Alibaba Cloud reserves the right to interpret the price adjustment.
If you renew your subscription RDS instance that resides in one of the preceding regions, the price difference cannot be used to offset the fees for the remaining subscription duration before the expiration date of your original subscription. If the remaining subscription duration of your order is more than half a year, you can calculate the price for the remaining subscription, and calculate the price after you change the billing method from subscription to pay-as-you-go and then change it from pay-as-you-go to subscription.
