Task Center lets you track the progress of active tasks and review the history of completed tasks from the last 30 days. For tasks that involve a switchover, you can also change when the switchover happens — immediately, during the maintenance window, or at a time you specify.
Task Center supports ApsaraDB RDS for MySQL, ApsaraDB RDS for PostgreSQL, and ApsaraDB RDS for SQL Server instances only. ApsaraDB RDS for MariaDB instances are not supported.
Task Center only shows tasks that it manages. Operations not listed in the supported task tables below are not tracked. Tasks completed before Task Center was released are also not displayed.

View tasks and modify switchover time
Open Task Center using either of the following methods:
On the ApsaraDB RDS console homepage, click Task Center in the left navigation pane.
On the instance details page, click Task Center in the upper-right corner.
Filter tasks by start time, keyword (task ID or resource ID), or status. Click Details in the Actions column to view a task's full details.

To change the switchover time for a task: in the Actions column of a task with the status Pending Schedule, click Modify switching time and select one of the following options:
Execute now: The switchover starts immediately.
O&M time execution: The switchover runs during the instance's maintenance window.
Execute at specified time: The switchover runs at the time you set.
FAQ
Why is my task progress stuck at a certain percentage?
Task progress does not increase linearly. The percentage is calculated based on the task type, data volume, workload, and the host's available resources. For time-intensive background operations — such as cross-host data migration, backup and download, or a major version upgrade — the progress bar may appear frozen for an extended period. Wait for the operation to complete.
I performed an operation in the console, but it doesn't appear in Task Center. Why?
Task Center only tracks the operations listed in the supported task tables above. Operations outside that list are not recorded. Tasks completed before Task Center was released are also not displayed.
Can I cancel a running task?
No. Canceling a running task is not supported. Tasks may involve refunds, background data migration, or switchovers that cannot be safely interrupted.
Can I use Task Center to schedule RDS Capacity Units (RCUs) for a Serverless instance?
No. Task Center is read-only for task tracking — it shows current task progress and up to 30 days of historical task details, and lets you adjust switchover timing for supported tasks. It does not support configuring scheduled scaling for Serverless instances.
For Serverless ApsaraDB RDS for MySQL, the instance scales automatically based on workload within the RCU range you configure:
Scale up: Triggered when CPU utilization or memory usage reaches the upper threshold.
Scale down: Triggered when both CPU utilization and memory usage fall below the lower threshold.
Thresholds typically range from 40% to 80% and may be adjusted by the system to maintain availability.
