The ApsaraDB RDS Task Hub improves task management and your operations and maintenance (O&M) experience. In the Task Hub, you can view the progress of current tasks and the details of historical tasks from the last 30 days. For some database engines, you can also adjust the switchover time for specific tasks. This topic describes the supported task types, available operations, and how to modify the switchover time for tasks in the RDS Task Hub.
Supported tasks and operations
Currently, only tasks related to ApsaraDB RDS for MySQL, ApsaraDB RDS for PostgreSQL, and ApsaraDB RDS for SQL Server instances are supported. Tasks related to ApsaraDB RDS for MariaDB instances are not supported.
The tasks managed in the Task Hub and the supported operations are as follows:

Procedure
Go to the Task Hub in one of the following ways:
Go to the ApsaraDB RDS console homepage. In the navigation pane on the left, click Task Hub.
Go to the Task Hub from the instance details page:
Go to the RDS Instances page. In the upper-left corner, select a region. Then, click the ID of the target instance.
In the upper-right corner of the instance details page, click the
icon.
Filter tasks by start time, keyword (task ID or resource ID), or status. In the Actions column of the target task, click Details to view its details.

For a task that involves a switchover, if the task status is Pending Switchover At Scheduled Time, click Modify Switchover Time in the Actions column. In the dialog box that appears, modify the switchover time:
Execute Immediately: The switchover is performed immediately.
Execute During Maintenance Window: The switchover is performed during the Maintenance Window of the instance.
Execute At A Specified Time: The switchover is performed at the specified time.
FAQ
Q: Why is the task progress percentage stuck?
A: The task progress percentage does not change linearly. It is calculated based on factors such as the task type, data volume, workload, and the resources of the host where the instance resides. If the progress percentage is stuck for a long time, this is usually because a time-consuming operation, such as cross-host data migration, backup, download, or a major version upgrade, is running in the background. Please wait for the operation to complete.
Q: I performed an operation on an instance in the console. Why is the task not displayed in the RDS Task Hub?
A: The Task Hub displays only the tasks that it manages. If an operation is not on the list of managed tasks, it is not displayed. In addition, historical tasks that were performed before the Task Hub was released are not displayed.
Q: Can I cancel a running task in the RDS Task Hub?
A: No, you cannot. Canceling a running task is not supported because a task may involve refunds, background data migration, or switchovers.
Q: Does the RDS Task Hub support configuring scheduled tasks for the RDS Capacity Units (RCUs) of a Serverless instance?
A: No, it does not. The RDS Task Hub only lets you view the progress of current tasks and the details of historical tasks from the last 30 days. For some database engines, you can adjust the switchover time for specific tasks. For more information, see Supported tasks and operations.
A Serverless ApsaraDB RDS for MySQL instance provides automatic scaling and pay-as-you-go billing. The computing resources of the instance automatically scale in or out within the RCU range that you specify based on the workload. The scaling range can be manually adjusted. The conditions that trigger RCU automatic scaling are as follows:
When one of the CPU utilization and memory usage reaches the threshold, RCUs are scaled up.
When both the CPU utilization and memory usage are reduced to the threshold, RCUs are scaled down.
The threshold varies from 40% to 80%. You can adjust the threshold to ensure availability based on your business requirements.
