You can set the monitoring frequency for an ApsaraDB RDS for MySQL instance on the monitoring page (old version) to monitor its performance in real time.

You can set the monitoring frequency only on the Legacy Monitoring. Some frequencies incur a fee.

The monitoring frequency for the monitoring page (new version), also known as Standard Monitoring, is fixed at 5 seconds and cannot be changed. This service is free.

ApsaraDB RDS offers multiple monitoring frequencies to help you monitor performance in real time.

You can query monitoring data from the last 30 days. Data older than 30 days is not retained.

For a cloud disk instance, the monitoring frequency is fixed at 60 seconds and cannot be changed.

Billing

Billable item: 5-second monitoring frequency.

Billing method: pay-as-you-go. Charges are billed hourly.

Price: USD 0.012 per hour.
Procedure
Go to the Instances page. In the top navigation bar, select the region in which the RDS instance resides. Then, find the RDS instance and click the ID of the instance.

In the left-side navigation pane, click Monitoring and Alerts.

On the right side of the page, click Back to Old Version.
NoteYou can set the monitoring frequency only on the Legacy Monitoring. The monitoring frequency for the monitoring page (new version), also known as Standard Monitoring, is fixed at 5 seconds and cannot be changed.

On the monitoring page (old version), click Set Monitoring Frequency.

In the Set Monitoring Frequency dialog box, select a monitoring frequency and click OK.
NoteThe 60-second and 300-second monitoring frequencies are free. The 5-second frequency is a paid service. For more information, see Billing.
If the instance type does not support second-level monitoring, the Set Monitoring Frequency dialog box displays a message.
