Billing example
Fee formula:
Fee = Total size of data backup files and log backup files × Unit price of network traffic
For example, you back up the data of an RDS instance from the China (Hangzhou) region to the China (Beijing) region, and the total size of the backup files is 100 GB. Before the price reduction, the unit price is USD 0.12 per GB. After the price reduction, the unit price is USD 0.075 per GB.
Fee for network traffic for cross-region backups before the price reduction: 100 × USD 0.12 = USD 12
Fee for network traffic for cross-region backups after the price reduction: 100 × USD 0.075 = USD 7.5
After the price reduction, the fee for network traffic for cross-region backups is USD 7.5, which is USD 4.5 less than the fee before the price reduction.

The cross-region backup feature is available for PolarDB for MySQL clusters and ApsaraDB RDS instances running MySQL, SQL Server, and PostgreSQL. Use it to replicate backup data to a different region for regulatory compliance or disaster recovery.
