ApsaraDB RDS:Manual renewal

Last Updated:Jun 20, 2026

Subscription instances have an expiration date. If you do not renew before expiration, your service may be interrupted and you could lose data. Renew your instance promptly.

For details about what happens after a subscription instance expires, see Effects of overdue payment or expiration.

Note

Pay-as-you-go and Serverless instances do not expire and do not require renewal. Keep sufficient funds in your account. The system automatically deducts fees as needed.

You can manually renew a subscription instance before it expires or within 15 days after expiration to extend its usage period.

Important notes

After an expired instance is locked, it usually returns to Normal status automatically within 5 minutes after manual renewal.

Method 1: Renew in the RDS console

Renew one instance

  1. Log on to the ApsaraDB RDS console and go to the Instances page. In the top navigation bar, select the region in which the RDS instance resides. Then, find the RDS instance and click the instance ID.

  2. On the Basic Information page, click Renew on the right side of the Status section.

  3. On the Renew page, select a Renewal Duration. Longer durations offer greater discounts.

  4. Check the Service Agreement, then click Pay Now to complete payment.

Renew multiple instances

  1. Log on to the ApsaraDB RDS console. In the left-side navigation pane, click Instances. In the top navigation bar, select the region in which your RDS instance resides.

  2. Select the check boxes next to the target instances, then click Renew at the bottom of the page.

  3. In the Renew window that appears, confirm the selected instances and click Yes. You are redirected to the Resource Renewal page.

  4. On the Manual Renewal tab, select the instances to renew, then click Batch Renewal at the bottom of the page.

  5. Select a Renewal Duration for each instance, then click Pay Now to complete payment.

Method 2: Renew in the Renewal Management console

  1. Log on to the RDS Management Console.

  2. In the upper-right corner of the console, hover your mouse over Fee, then select Renewal Management in the pop-up window.

  3. On the Manual Renewal tab, find the target instance. You can renew one or multiple instances:

    • Renew one instance

      1. Click Renew next to the target instance.

        Note

If the target instance appears on the Auto-renewal or Do Not Renew After Expiration tab, select the instance and click Restore Manual Renewal at the bottom of the page. In the dialog box that appears, click OK to restore manual renewal.

      2. Select a renewal duration, then click Pay Now to complete payment.

    • Renew multiple instances

      1. Select the target instances, then click Batch Renew.

      2. Select a Renewal Duration for each instance, then click Pay Now to complete payment.
