The global configuration for Smart Q lets you configure the large model service and manage settings for voice Q&A, data interpretation, and displaying sample datasets.
This feature is currently available only in the China (Hong Kong) , Malaysia (Kuala Lumpur) and Singapore regions. It is being progressively rolled out to other regions.
Limitations
Only organization administrators and users assigned a custom role with the Smart Q - Centralized Management permission can configure global settings.
Access configuration
Navigate to Smart Q > Q chat > Global Configuration.

Voice Q&A
When enabled, users can start a voice conversation in Smart Q by initiating a query.

Q interpretation
When enabled, users can use the large model service to interpret data and generate insights. For more information, see Dashboard Q interpretation.

Display sample datasets
Enabling this setting displays sample datasets.

Datasets with the Sample label in the upper-left corner are sample datasets. You can select these datasets to ask questions. For more information, see Preview and Select Datasets.

Auto-focus dataset
When this option is enabled, after a user's first query matches a single dataset, Smart Q automatically focuses all subsequent queries on that same dataset, eliminating the need for repeated selection. If this option is disabled, Smart Q does not automatically focus on a dataset. Instead, it intelligently selects the most relevant dataset for each new query.

You can select Based on all available data or Based on analysis topic.
Based on all available data
When enabled, if a query based on all available data matches a single dataset, subsequent queries are automatically focused on that dataset.
When disabled, Smart Q does not automatically focus on a dataset. Instead, it selects the most relevant dataset for each query.
Based on analysis topic
When enabled, if a query within an analysis topic matches a single dataset, subsequent queries are automatically focused on that dataset.
When disabled, Smart Q does not automatically focus on a dataset. Instead, it selects the most relevant dataset for each query.
Interactive dataset selection
When this option is enabled, if a query matches multiple datasets, Smart Q displays a UI for you to manually select the desired dataset(s). If this option is disabled, the system automatically selects the most relevant dataset(s) to answer the query.

You can select Based on all available data or Based on analysis topic.
Based on all available data
When enabled: On the All Datasets page, when a query matches multiple highly relevant datasets, the system lists multiple candidate datasets, and you must manually select one or more of them to continue.
Disabled: The system automatically uses the most relevant dataset(s) to answer the query without requiring manual selection.
Based on analysis topic
When enabled: On the dataset page of an analysis topic, if a question matches multiple datasets within that topic, the system lists the candidate datasets. You must manually select one or more of these datasets to proceed.
Disabled: The system automatically uses the most relevant dataset(s) within the current topic to answer the query without requiring manual selection.
Query clarification
When enabled, if a query meets the conditions for query clarification (for example, it is missing a time element, a metric, or contains ambiguous options with multiple metrics), Smart Q asks a follow-up question to confirm the required elements before providing a more accurate answer. For details, see Query Clarification.
