This topic explains how to enable and disable the PolarDB for AI feature.
Prerequisites
Your cluster must meet the following requirements:

Region: Available only in Japan (Tokyo) and Singapore.

Database Edition is Enterprise Edition and Edition is Cluster Edition.

database engine version is MySQL 8.0.1 or later.

PolarProxy version is 2.7.5 or later.
You can view or upgrade the database engine version and PolarProxy version in Version management.
Enable the PolarDB for AI feature
Add an AI node

Log on to the PolarDB console. In the left-side navigation pane, click Clusters. Select the region where the cluster is deployed, and then click the cluster ID to open the cluster details page.

Go to the Add/Remove Node page by using one of the following methods:

In the row of the target cluster, click Add/Remove Node in the Actions column.

Click the ID of the target cluster to go to the Basic Information page. In the Database Nodes section, click Add/Remove Node.

In the Add/Remove Node, select the Add AI Node option, and then click OK.

To add an AI node, click Add AI Node, select its specifications and a switchover time. After you review the service agreements, click Buy Now.
NoteSelect one of the following specifications: 2 cores and 8 GB memory, 4 cores and 16 GB memory, 8 cores and 16 GB memory, 8 cores and 32 GB memory, 16 cores and 64 GB memory, 16 cores and 128 GB memory, 32 cores and 128 GB memory, 8 cores and 30 GB memory + 1 GU30, or 16 cores and 125 GB memory + 1 GU100.

After you complete the payment, return to the cluster details page and wait for the AI node to be added. The node is successfully added when its status changes to Running.
Configure the database account
In the Database Nodes section, find the AI Nodes. In the dialog box, select a standard account , enter the Database Password, and click Confirm.
Obtain the node token
After you add and configure the AI node, go to the Database Nodes section. Select the AI node. In the dialog box, click View Node Token and then record the Node Token.
Disable the PolarDB for AI feature
When you release an AI node, data associated with the node, such as vector tables, is also deleted. To prevent data loss, back up all necessary data before releasing the node.

Log on to the PolarDB console. In the left-side navigation pane, click Clusters. Select the region where your cluster is deployed, and then find the target cluster.

Go to the Add/Remove Node page by using one of the following methods:

In the row of the target cluster, click Add/Remove Node in the Actions column.

Click the ID of the target cluster to go to the Basic Information page. In the Database Nodes section, click Add/Remove Node.

Select Delete AI Node and click OK.

To delete the AI node, click the
icon, select a switchover time, review the service agreements, and then click Buy Now to confirm the change.
