Last Updated:Dec 23, 2025

This topic describes the billing rules and methods for PAI ArtLab.

Billing rules

PAI ArtLab charges for computing power, storage, and traffic resources. The billing details are as follows:

Billable item

Billing method

Deduction logic

Computing power

Pay-as-you-go

Pay for what you use after you use it. This applies to tools in the PAI ArtLab Toolbox, such as Stable Diffusion (Exclusive/Shared) and ComfyUI (Exclusive/Shared).

Resource plan deduction > Pay-as-you-go

After the resource plan is consumed, the billing method automatically switches to pay-as-you-go.

Resource plan (subscription)

Purchase a discounted resource plan (savings plan) in advance. Your usage is deducted from the resource plan first during billing. You purchase first and then your usage is deducted.

  • Effective date and validity: The plan takes effect immediately after purchase and is valid for one year. It becomes void upon expiration.

  • Deduction rule: After you purchase a resource plan, usage is first deducted from the plan's quota. If the quota is exhausted, any additional usage is automatically billed on a pay-as-you-go basis.

Storage and traffic resources

The billing rules for different tool editions are as follows:

  • Shared Edition tools: You are not charged for starting the tool. You are charged only for the actual GPU time consumed during image generation. Costs are deducted first from resource plans and coupons. Any excess amount is deducted from your Alibaba Cloud account balance on a pay-as-you-go basis.

  • Exclusive Edition tools: Billing starts after the tool is successfully launched. You are charged based on the price of the machine specification you select to run the tool. Costs are deducted first from resource plans and coupons. Any excess amount is deducted from your Alibaba Cloud account balance on a pay-as-you-go basis.

Billing methods

Pay-as-you-go

After you activate PAI ArtLab, the default billing method is pay-as-you-go. You are charged for the resources that you use. PAI ArtLab usage incurs fees from the following two cloud products:

  • Object Storage Service (OSS)

For billing details, see the OSS Price Calculator.

    • Storage plan: Stores datasets, models, and generated images.

    • Outbound data transfer plan: Covers the costs of downloading models and datasets, and previewing model images.

    • Request resource plan: Provides 5 million write (PUT) requests and 20 million read (GET) requests for free each month.

  • Elastic Algorithm Service (EAS)

For billing details, see PAI Pricing.

    • Exclusive Edition: With the Exclusive Edition, you have exclusive use of machine resources. Billing starts when you start the tool service and stops when you stop the service. The billing cycle is hourly.

    • Shared Edition: You are billed based on the actual duration of GPU usage.

Note

The actual price is subject to the price on your bill.

Resource plan (subscription)

A resource plan is a prepaid package. You purchase a resource plan of a specific size based on your estimated business volume. The plan is valid for one year from the date of purchase. During the validity period, billable usage is deducted from the resource plan's quota first. Any unused quota in the resource plan automatically expires after the validity period.

If you purchase multiple resource plans for the same service, the one with the earliest expiration date is used first. If multiple resource plans for the same service have the same expiration date, one is randomly selected.

Resource plans are available in the following two types:

  • Package: If this is your first purchase, consider buying a package. It includes computing power, storage, and traffic resources.

  • Individual resource plan: Purchase a resource plan for computing power, storage, or traffic separately.

Purchase a package (recommended for first-time purchase)

Log on to the PAI ArtLab console and click Purchase Package in the upper-right corner. You can choose from three resource plan packages: Basic, Advanced, and Ultimate.
