Microservices Engine:View the monitoring data of a cloud-native gateway

Microservices Engine (MSE) allows you to view the monitoring data of a cloud-native gateway on the following tabs: Log Center, Global Dashboard, Top Business List, Access Center, and Canary Release Comparison Dashboard. You can also view the metric data on custom Grafana dashboards.

MSE collects gateway metrics from two data sources:

Prerequisites

Before you begin, make sure you have:

  • A cloud-native gateway deployed in MSE

  • Access to the MSE console

View metric data

  1. Log on to the MSE console.

  2. In the left-side navigation pane, choose Cloud-native Gateway > Gateways. In the top navigation bar, select a region.

  3. Find the target gateway and click Monitor in the Actions column.

  4. On the Business Monitoring page, select Prometheus Service or Log Service as the data source in the upper-right corner.

  5. Select a dashboard tab to view the corresponding metrics.

The following table describes the available dashboard tabs and the metric sections each tab contains.

Canary release metrics

The Canary Release Comparison Dashboard tab displays the following metrics:

Number of Grayscale Service Access
Number of successful service accesses
Note The dashboard displays the last 15 minutes of data by default. To view a different time range, use the time picker in the upper-right corner.

Use Grafana for advanced observability

For deeper observability, use Grafana Professional Edition. This option provides a multi-tenant Grafana dashboard.

To open Grafana:

  1. On the Business Monitoring page, click Using Grafana Professional Edition.

  2. The Grafana console opens, where you can use a multi-tenant Grafana dashboard.

View access logs

Access logs provide details about requests processed by the gateway.

  1. Log on to the MSE console.

  2. In the left-side navigation pane, choose Cloud-native Gateway > Gateways. In the top navigation bar, select a region.

  3. On the Gateways page, click the ID of the gateway.

  4. In the left-side navigation pane, choose Observation Analysis > Log Center.

  5. On the Log Center tab, review the gateway access logs.

Note To filter logs by a specific time range, use the time picker in the upper-right corner.
