Microservices Engine:Domain names

Last Updated:Jan 20, 2025

This topic describes how to manage domain names, update the protocol and certificate of a domain name, and configure an HTTPS cipher suite for a cloud-native gateway.

Create a domain name

Note

If you want to associate independent domain names with cloud-native gateways in a region in the Chinese mainland, you must apply for ICP filings in the Alibaba Cloud ICP Filing system or add Alibaba Cloud as a service provider to the ICP filing information of the domain names. If you want to associate independent domain names with cloud-native gateways in a region outside the Chinese mainland, ICP filings are not required.

Cloud-native gateways allow you to manage multiple domain names. This helps you manage the protocols, certificates, and routing configurations of different domain names. You must complete ICP filing before you create a domain name. For more information, see Create a domain name.

Delete a domain name

For more information about how to delete a domain name from a cloud-native gateway, see Delete a domain name.

Update the protocol and certificate of a domain name

You may need to update the protocol or certificate of a domain name in the following scenarios to ensure the security and compliance of websites:

  • An SSL certificate expires. In this scenario, you must update the certificate to ensure data encryption during data transfer.

  • The owner of a domain name changes. In this scenario, you must reconfigure a certificate.

  • The protocol of a website is upgraded from HTTP to HTTPS.

For more information, see Change the protocol and certificate of a domain name.
