Switch an ApsaraDB for MongoDB instance from pay-as-you-go to subscription to reduce costs for long-running, stable workloads.
Subscription instances cannot be released.
Prerequisites
Before you begin, confirm the following:
Requirements you must meet:
The instance uses the pay-as-you-go billing method and is in the Running state.
The instance has no unpaid Change to Subscription orders. An unpaid order blocks new instance purchases and other billing method changes. To pay or cancel a pending order, go to the Expenses and Costs console, then choose .
Your Alibaba Cloud account has enough balance to cover the subscription fee.
Requirements that may need advance action:
The instance must not use a historical specification (a specification no longer available for purchase). If it does, modify the instance configuration first. For a list of historical specifications, see Historical specifications.
The instance must run database version 4.0 or later. If it runs an earlier version, upgrade the major database version to 4.0, or upgrade within the same major version by following the minor version upgrade guide.
The billing method cannot be changed for instances that meet all of the following conditions: use local disks, are deployed in the US (Silicon Valley) or US (Virginia) region, and run MongoDB 4.0 or 4.2. For details, see Stop selling MongoDB 4.0/4.2 instances with local disks in US regions.
Switch to subscription
Log on to the ApsaraDB for MongoDB console.
In the left-side navigation pane, click Replica Set Instances or Sharded Cluster Instances based on your instance type.
In the upper-left corner of the page, select the resource group and region of your instance.
In the Actions column of the target instance, click More and select Change to Subscription.
On the Switch to Subscription Billing page, set the Duration.
Read the Terms of Service and click Buy now.
On the Purchase page, complete the payment.
