Google released Android 16 Beta 4 in April 2025. As a fundamental SDK, mPaaS has completed the adaptation development and testing work.
Upgrade SDK
You can use the mPaaS plugin to upgrade the mPaaS SDK.
If your current baseline is 10.2.3, you only need to upgrade to version 10.2.3.63 or above. For more information, see 10.2.3 series baseline versions.
If your current baseline is 10.1.68 or below, upgrade to 10.2.3 and update to version 10.2.3.63 or above. For more information, see mPaaS 10.2.3 upgrade guide.
Kernel
The kernel components in the mPaaS baseline need to be upgraded to the mPaaS kernel to support use on Android 16 and future new versions.
Downgrade the system kernel
Applications that have not been upgraded to the mPaaS kernel will be automatically downgraded to use the Android system kernel when running on Android 16 and above.
Regression testing
Whether you downgrade the system kernel or replace it with an mPaaS kernel, related functions may change along with some browser features. Please perform regression testing on related businesses that use the kernel, such as H5 Container and Mini Program.
About custom library
If your dependencies include custom libraries, you need to handle them according to the following situations:
If you are upgrading from a lower version SDK (such as 10.1.68) to version 10.2.3, your custom libraries may need to be re-customized based on the new version. Please search for group number 145930007362 to join the DingTalk group and consult mPaaS technical support.
If you are already using version 10.2.3, you only need to update certain components. See the Libraries adapted to Android 16 updates below to check if your custom libraries are included.
If not included, you can continue using that custom library.
