Messaging fee

Messaging is a basic feature of ApsaraMQ for RocketMQ. After you activate ApsaraMQ for RocketMQ, the messaging feature is enabled by default.

The following figure shows the billable items of the messaging feature.

Messaging fee
  • Messaging fee of a Standard Edition instance = API call fee + Topic usage fee

Standard Edition instances are billed on a pay-as-you-go basis. These instances are suitable for scenarios in which the number of messages is small or the message volume significantly fluctuates during peak and off-peak hours. You are charged only for the messages that are transmitted and the resources that you use. This helps you maximize resource utilization.

  • Messaging fee of an Enterprise Platinum Edition instance = Fee for the selected maximum TPS specification + Fee for the selected topic specification + Fee for the selected storage specification

Enterprise Platinum Edition instances are billed on a subscription basis. These instances are suitable for scenarios in which the service level agreement (SLA) requirements are high or the number of messages is large. The subscription billing method provides discounts and allows you to reserve resources in advance. This can help you reduce costs.
