Lindorm:Change hot storage capacity

Last Updated:Mar 28, 2026

If your Lindorm instance is running low on hot storage, scale out or scale in directly from the Lindorm console. This applies to instances using Standard or Performance storage.

Prerequisites

Before you begin, make sure that:

  • The instance Storage Type is Standard or Performance

Note

Local SSD and Big Data storage types do not support storage scale-out or scale-in. To increase disk capacity for these instances, add nodes instead. See Change the number of nodes for an instance.

Usage notes

Write availability

If hot storage usage exceeds 95%, the instance stops accepting writes. When storage usage reaches the alert threshold, Lindorm sends you notifications via internal messages and text messages. Set a capacity alert threshold well below 95% and configure alert recipients so you receive notifications before usage reaches the critical level:

Instance status during scaling

While a scale-out or scale-in operation is in progress, the instance status changes to RESIZING or Scaling In. Management operations—such as enabling services, upgrading, or downgrading—are unavailable during this time. The instance is ready when its status returns to Running.

Important

Scale-in is a time-consuming operation. Perform it during off-peak hours.

Billing

For actual storage fees, see the console.
