Lindorm:Activate the service

Last Updated:Oct 14, 2025

This topic describes how to activate the compute engine service.

Prerequisites

A Lindorm instance is created. For more information, see Create an instance.

Billing methods

Compute engine fees consist of the following two parts:

  • Elastic resource fees: You are charged for the elastic computing resources based on your actual resource usage. Computing resources are measured in compute units (CUs). One CU indicates computing resources that are equivalent to one CPU core and 4 GB of memory. One CU costs USD 0.031 per hour.

    Important

The unit price of 1 CU in the SAU (Riyadh - Partner Region) region is USD 0.0378 per hour.

  • 12 Basic usage fees: You are charged basic usage fees for 10 CUs.

Enable the Compute Engine service

  1. Log on to the Lindorm console.

  2. In the upper-left corner of the page, select the region where the instance is deployed.

  3. On the Instances page, click the ID of the instance that you want to manage or click Manage in the Actions column corresponding to the instance.

  4. In the navigation pane on the left, click Database Connections.

  5. Click the Compute Engine tab, and then click Activate Now.

  7. The status of the Lindorm instance is changed to Activating. LDPS is activated in 5 to 10 minutes.

  8. After the status of the Lindorm instance becomes Running, LDPS is activated for the instance.

  9. (Optional) After LDPS is activated, you can click Apply for Public Endpoint on the Compute Engine tab to apply for a public endpoint.

Configure vSwitches for the compute engine

You must provide sufficient IP resources for the vSwitches to ensure that the resource group for the compute engine runs as expected. After you activate the compute engine, you can add a vSwitch by performing the following steps:

  1. Log on to the Lindorm console.

  2. In the upper-left corner of the page, select the region where the instance is deployed.

  3. On the Instances page, click the ID of the instance that you want to manage or click Manage in the Actions column corresponding to the instance.

  4. In the navigation pane on the left, click Compute Engine.

  5. Click the Operations Management tab.

  6. Click Modify. In the Configure Network VSwitch dialog box, select a vSwitch that has a sufficient number of available IP addresses.

    Note
    • To create a vSwitch, make sure that it is in the same zone as the Lindorm instance. For more information, see Create and manage vSwitches.

    • The Configure Network VSwitch dialog box displays only the vSwitches that are in the same zone as the Lindorm instance.

    • You can select up to five vSwitches.

  7. Click OK.
