When you change the configurations of a Lindorm instance, fees adjust based on your billing method. This page covers both pay-as-you-go and subscription billing models.
Pay-as-you-go instances
Fees are billed on an hourly basis. After a configuration change takes effect, the current billing cycle is charged at the new configuration price — not the next one.
Example: If you change configurations at 14:20, the billing cycle from 14:00 to 15:00 is charged at the new configuration price.
Subscription instances
Subscription instances are prepaid. When you change configurations:
| Change type | How fees are calculated |
|---|---|
| Upgrade | You pay the cost difference for the remaining subscription duration: (Unit price of new config × Remaining duration) − (Unit price of original config × Remaining duration)
Example: The new configuration has two wide table nodes with 8-core 16 GB specifications and costs USD 312.63 per month. The old configuration has two wide table nodes with 4-core 16 GB specifications and costs USD 185.76 per month. If 50 days remain in the subscription, the fee you must pay is approximately (USD 312.63 / 30 days × 50 days) - (USD 185.76 / 30 days × 50 days) = USD 211.45. |
| Downgrade | You receive a refund for the cost difference for the remaining subscription duration. For refund rules, see Request a refund for the downgrade of resource specifications. |
Upgrade example:
| Parameter | Value |
|---|---|
| Original config | 2 LindormTable nodes, 4 CPU cores, 16 GB memory each |
| New config | 2 LindormTable nodes, 8 CPU cores, 16 GB memory each |
| Monthly price (original) | USD 185.76 |
| Monthly price (new) | USD 312.63 |
| Remaining duration | 50 days |
| Upgrade fee | (312.63 / 30 × 50) − (185.76 / 30 × 50) = USD 211.45 |
The remaining subscription duration is measured in seconds, not days. The fees shown on the upgrade page are the final amount — always use those figures rather than your own estimates.

FAQ
Why does the upgrade fee change from day to day?
The upgrade fee depends on the remaining subscription duration, which decreases each day. As the remaining duration shrinks, the cost difference between the old and new configurations also decreases.
To estimate the upgrade fee, check the expiration time on the configuration change page and apply this formula:
Upgrade fee = (New monthly price / 30 × Remaining days) − (Original monthly price / 30 × Remaining days)
Example: Upgrading 2 LindormTable nodes from 4 cores/16 GB/480 GB storage to 8 cores/16 GB (original monthly price: USD 185.76, new monthly price: USD 312.63):
Example: You have a subscription instance with two 4-core 16 GB wide table nodes and you want to upgrade them to 8-core 16 GB. The monthly price for the new specifications is USD 312.63 and the monthly price for the old specifications is USD 185.76. If you upgrade with 10 days remaining in your subscription, the fee is approximately (USD 312.63 / 30 days × 10 days) - (USD 185.76 / 30 days × 10 days) = USD 42.29. If you upgrade with 5 days remaining, the fee is approximately (USD 312.63 / 30 days × 5 days) - (USD 185.76 / 30 days × 5 days) = USD 21.145.
| Remaining duration | Upgrade fee |
|---|---|
| 10 days | (312.63 / 30 × 10) − (185.76 / 30 × 10) = USD 42.29 |
| 5 days | (312.63 / 30 × 5) − (185.76 / 30 × 5) = USD 21.145 |
The fees shown on the upgrade page are the authoritative figures — always verify there before confirming the change.
