This topic describes how to manage IDaaS (Identity as a Service) instances.
Create an instance
In the Application Identity Management product console, click the EIAM Cloud Identity Service menu to go to the EIAM Cloud Identity Service console.
Click Create Free Instance, enter an instance name, and select a protocol to create a free IDaaS instance. A free instance supports basic identity management scenarios. For more information, see Product Billing.
Click the IDaaS instance ID or Access Console to access the instance.
Try out an instance
To start your free trial, go to your IDaaS instance and click Trial in the lower-right corner of the Quick Start page. The free trial lets you experience most of the paid features. Each instance is eligible for one free trial.
You can upgrade the instance during the trial period. If you upgrade, the trial ends early.
After the trial expires, the instance is automatically downgraded to the Free Edition. You can no longer use the paid features. The data in the instance is not deleted.
Upgrade an instance
In the Application Identity Management product console, click the EIAM Cloud Identity Service menu, and then click Upgrade to open the upgrade page, where you can purchase paid IDaaS features. You can also upgrade the instance from the Quick Start page. For more information about the paid features, see Product Billing.
Renew an instance
In the Application Identity Management product console, click the EIAM Cloud Identity Service menu. In the list of paid instances, click Renew to open the renewal page and extend the validity period of the current features. You can also renew the instance from the Quick Start page. For more information about the paid features, see Product Billing.
Upgrade instance specifications
In the Application Identity Management product console, click the EIAM Cloud Identity Service menu. In the list of paid instances, click Upgrade Specifications to open the specification upgrade page and increase the quotas for paid IDaaS features. You can also upgrade the instance specifications from the Quick Start page. For more information about the paid features, see Product Billing.
Release an instance
You can release only Free Edition instances. To release a paid instance, you must first downgrade it to the Free Edition.
In the Application Identity Management product console, click the EIAM Cloud Identity Service menu. In the list of free instances, click Release to release the instance.
Because releasing an instance is a sensitive operation, a secondary authentication may be required. You must use the Alibaba Cloud account that owns the instance to authenticate with a verification code sent by text message. After the authentication is successful, the instance is released and all data in it is deleted.
After an instance is released, all data in the instance is deleted and cannot be restored.
