The domain name is critical for the filing of Internet information services (websites/apps), and to ensure a smooth verification process, you must confirm that the real-name authentication matches the filing information, the domain suffix complies with requirements, and the registrar is an approved entity. Meeting these criteria is essential for the successful completion of the domain verification.
According to the Notice of the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology on Regulating the Use of Domain Names for Internet Information Services, Alibaba Cloud ICP Filing Management System will verify the domain registration information. If you are unable to pass the domain verification, Alibaba Cloud will cease to provide you with access services as required by the communications administration. For more information about the domain names that need to be verified in different ICP filing scenarios, see the Appendix: Domain names to be verified in different ICP filing scenarios section of this topic.
Check whether your domain name meets ICP filing requirements based on the following items:
Check item 1: real-name authentication
Check item 2: domain suffix
Check item 3: domain registrar
Check item 1: real-name authentication
The domain real-name information (holder name, holder identification type, holder identification number) must match the proposed filing information. The real-name requirements are as follows:
For individual filings, the domain holder information must be consistent with the filing entity information.
For enterprise or organization filings, the domain holder information must also match the filing subject information. In some provinces and cities, it is allowed for the domain holder information to match the information of the filing entity representative.
For more information about the ICP filing regulations in different provinces, autonomous regions, and municipalities, see ICP filing regulations of the MIIT for different regions.
If your domain name was not registered with Alibaba Cloud, contact your domain registrar to obtain the real-name information.
The Domain Names service of Alibaba Cloud international site (alibabacloud.com) acts as an international domain registrar. Domains registered on this site need to be transferred to a Chinese mainland domain registrar and complete the domain real-name verification before ICP filing can be conducted. For information about how to transfer a domain name to the China site (aliyun.com), see Transfer a domain name to Alibaba Cloud.
View the real-name verification information.
Log on to the Alibaba Cloud Domain Names console.
In the left-side navigation pane, click Domain Names. On the Domain Names page, find the domain name whose real-name verification information you want to view and click Manage in the Actions column.
NoteIf you cannot find the domain name whose real-name information you want to view, the possible cause is that the domain name does not belong to the current account.
On the Basic Information page, view the domain real-name information.
NoteMake sure that the ICP filing entity information is consistent with the domain holder information in Chinese. The holder information in English is automatically translated by the system.
Confirm the check items in the following table.
Check item
Description
Consistency between the domain holder information and the filing entity information
The domain holder information must be consistent with that of the ICP filing entity. The information includes the name, certificate type, and certificate number.
If the domain holder is an individual, it cannot be used to apply for an ICP filing for the enterprise filing entity. To do so, you must change the user type to an enterprise or organization. For more information, see Modify registrant contact information or transfer domain name ownership.
Normativity of the enterprise name of the domain holder
The Chinese or English form of the parentheses in the enterprise name of the domain holder must be consistent with that in the relevant business license.
Domain real-name authentication
Before you apply for an ICP filing for a domain name, make sure that you complete real-name authentication for the domain name. For more information, see the Real-name verification for a domain name topic in the Domain Names documentation on the Alibaba Cloud China site (aliyun.com).
Domain renewal
The required validity period of domain names varies based on provinces. We recommend that you renew your domain name at least 45 days before it expires. If your domain name does not meet the preceding requirement, renew the domain name before you apply for an ICP filing. For more information, see Renew domain names.

Before you apply for an ICP filing for a domain name, make sure that the domain suffix (top-level domain) has been approved by the MIIT. Perform the following steps to check whether your domain name is qualified for an ICP filing application:
Check whether the domain suffix has been approved by the MIIT.
Visit the MIIT website.
In the left-side navigation pane, click China's Internet Domain Name System.

Check item 3: domain registrar
Before you apply for an ICP filing for a domain name, make sure that the domain registrar has been approved by the MIIT. Perform the following steps to view the registrar. If the domain registrar is not approved by the MIIT, you can transfer the domain name to Alibaba Cloud.
