EventBridge charges are based on the resources you use. Some resources are free, and others are billed by usage. This topic covers resource types, billable items, cross-region data transfer pricing, billing cycles, and payment methods.
EventBridge will be commercially available on the Alibaba Cloud China Website (www.aliyun.com) on June 3, 2025. For information about the commercial release on the Alibaba Cloud International Website (www.alibabacloud.com), follow the official announcements.
Resources and billable items

| Resource | Billing status | Billing method | Details |
|---|---|---|---|
| System event bus | Free | N/A | Built-in event bus that receives events from Alibaba Cloud service event sources. Cannot be modified. |
| Custom event bus | Paid | See Billing of event buses | User-created event bus. |
| Event stream | Paid | pay-by-event or pay-by-CU | End-to-end streaming event channel for stream data processing. See Billing of event streams. |
| Event store | Free during public preview | TBD | Storage unit for storing and analyzing events. For the commercial release date, follow official announcements. |
For more information about each resource, see Event bus overview and Event stream overview.
Cross-region data transfer pricing
When events are transferred across regions, data transfer fees apply. Prices are in USD per GB. Column headers represent the inbound (destination) region.
| Source region | Chinese mainland | Asia-Pacific | Europe | North America | South America | Middle East |
|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|
| Chinese mainland | 0.10 | 1.22 | 1.22 | 1.22 | 1.22 | 1.22 |
| Asia-Pacific | 1.22 | 0.11 | 0.11 | 0.11 | 0.54 | 0.54 |
| Europe | 1.22 | 0.11 | 0.028 | 0.075 | 0.54 | 0.54 |
| North America | 1.22 | 0.11 | 0.075 | 0.028 | 0.54 | 0.54 |
| South America | 1.22 | 0.54 | 0.54 | 0.54 | 0.54 | 0.54 |
| Middle East | 1.22 | 0.54 | 0.54 | 0.54 | 0.54 | 0.54 |
Within the same region group (for example, Europe to Europe), transfer costs are lower. Cross-group transfers (for example, Asia-Pacific to South America) are more expensive.
Billing cycles
EventBridge settles fees on two cycles depending on the billable item:
| Billable item | Settlement cycle | When to expect the bill |
|---|---|---|
| Idle resource occupation fee | Daily | Bill for the previous day is available the next day. |
| All other billable items | Hourly (UTC+8) | Bill is available approximately 3 hours after the billing period ends. For example, charges from 01:00 to 02:00 are viewable after 04:00. |
