Elasticsearch:Perform a diagnostic on an Elasticsearch cluster

Last Updated:Mar 26, 2026

When you need to assess cluster health or investigate potential issues, use the Cluster Diagnosis feature to run an on-demand diagnostic. With Intelligent Maintenance enabled, a diagnostic also runs automatically every morning and generates a report. You can run up to five manual diagnostics per day; each takes about 3 minutes.

Prerequisites

Before you begin, ensure that you have:

Run a diagnostic

  1. Log on to the Alibaba Cloud Elasticsearch console.

  2. In the left-side navigation pane, click Elasticsearch Clusters.

  3. Navigate to the target cluster:

    1. In the top navigation bar, select the resource group and region where the cluster resides.

    2. On the Elasticsearch Clusters page, find the cluster and click its ID.

  4. In the left-side navigation pane of the cluster details page, click Cluster Diagnosis under Intelligent Maintenance.

  5. On the Cluster Diagnosis page, select the Indexes and Diagnosis Items to include.

All indexes and diagnosis items are selected by default. Each diagnostic request supports up to 10 indexes.
  6. Click Diagnose Now. After the diagnostic completes, the latest diagnostic report appears in the Diagnosis Report section.

  7. Review the report. The Diagnosis Report section contains the following information: diagnostic item descriptions, diagnostic results, and suggestions.
