Job queues with stable, long-term resource usage cost less under subscription billing than pay-as-you-go. This topic describes how to convert a specific queue in an EMR Serverless Spark workspace from pay-as-you-go to subscription.
Prerequisites
Before you begin, make sure the workspace meets all of the following conditions:

Workspace status is Running

Workspace billing method is Pay-as-you-go

No overdue payment and not expired (renew the workspace if needed)

No unpaid conversion orders
-
Post-conversion subscription quota for the resource queue is at least 25 CU
Conversion limits
If an unpaid conversion order exists, you cannot change queues or quotas for the workspace. Pay or cancel the order before making changes.
Convert a queue to subscription

Log on to the E-MapReduce console.

In the navigation pane, choose EMR Serverless > Spark.

On the Spark page, find the target workspace. In the Actions column, click
> Convert to Subscription. Configure the following settings.Parameter

Scope
Select the scope at the queue level. After a successful conversion, the queue becomes a subscription queue.
Subscription duration
The duration in months. The minimum subscription duration is one month.
Auto-renewal
Enabled by default. For manual renewal and canceling auto-renewal, see Renewal policy.

Review the configuration and fees, click OK, and complete the payment.

(Optional) After the conversion, adjust the queue quota allocation as needed. See Manage resource queues.
