Prevents unexpected pay-as-you-go charges by capping site usage during traffic spikes. May affect service continuity — use with caution.
Enable usage cap
Usage cap detection has a 10–15 minute latency.
In the ESA console, choose Websites. In the Website column, click the target site.
In the navigation pane on the left, choose Usage Cap.
On the Usage Cap page, click Create Rule. Enter a Rule Name, and set the match conditions and Statistical Cycle.
Every 5 Minutes: A 5-minute time window.
Every Hour: A 1-hour time window.
Every Day: A calendar day (00:00–23:59).
Every Month: A calendar month (first to last day of the current month).
Select an action and click OK.
Disable Website: When traffic reaches the threshold, the site is suspended and all acceleration, security, and computing services become unavailable. This affects your online business — use with caution. Set a threshold higher than your planned usage.
Delete DNS Records: When traffic reaches the threshold, a specific subdomain record is deleted. Use this option to avoid taking the site offline.
WarningDeleting a subdomain record is irreversible. You must manually re-add the record and its configuration. Use with caution.
When a usage cap rule suspends the site, you are notified via in-site messages, and email.
After a usage cap rule is triggered, the rule automatically changes to Expired, and the rule no longer takes effect. If the site is manually restarted after being suspended due to a usage cap trigger, normal pay-as-you-go billing applies — the rule no longer intercepts billing since it has expired. You can modify the rule status at any time in the console by clicking Enable in the rule's actions menu.

In the navigation pane on the left, choose Usage Cap.
On the Usage Cap page, you can Edit, Disable, Enable, or Delete a rule.
NoteEach site supports up to five rules. Disabled rules are not in effect.When a rule is disabled, it will not take effect, and the status label of the rule in the console will be displayed as Expired.

Frequently asked questions
What should I do if a usage cap rule becomes inactive?
After a usage cap rule is triggered once, it automatically changes to Expired. This is not a deletion — the rule still exists and can be re-enabled at any time.
To re-enable the rule, go to the Usage Cap page and click Enable next to the inactive rule.
