Last Updated:May 15, 2026

Create a dedicated block storage cluster for exclusive access to storage resources.

Prerequisites

Permission is granted by submitting a ticket (first-time use only).

Background

Note

Dedicated Block Storage Cluster is available in the following regions: China (Hangzhou), China (Shanghai), China (Beijing), China (Zhangjiakou), China (Ulanqab), China (Shenzhen), China (Heyuan), Indonesia (Jakarta), Germany (Frankfurt), and China South 1 Finance.

Note the following when you create a dedicated block storage cluster:

  • When you log on to the EBS console for the first time, create an EBS service-linked role as prompted. See EBS service-linked role.

  • Dedicated block storage clusters are available in Basic and Performance types. Select a type based on your requirements.

  • Creating a dedicated block storage cluster incurs charges. See Billing.

Procedure

  1. Go to the Dedicated Block Storage Cluster page.

    1. Log on to the Elastic Block Storage console.

    2. In the navigation pane, choose Enterprise-level Features > Dedicated Block Storage Clusters.

  2. In the upper-left corner of the page, select a region and resource group.地域

  3. Click Create Dedicated Block Storage Cluster.

  4. In the panel that appears, configure the following parameters.

The following table describes each parameter.

    Parameter

    Description

    Billing Method

    Only Subscription is supported.

    Region and Zone

The region and zone of the cluster.

    Note

The region and zone cannot be changed after creation. Set them to match your resources, such as ECS instances.

    Cluster Capacity

The cluster capacity. Range and adjustment limits:

    • Minimum capacity: 60 TiB (61,440 GiB)

    • Maximum capacity: 2,280 TiB (2,334,720 GiB)

    • Increment: 12 TiB (12,288 GiB).

    Note

If the cluster capacity is less than 576 TiB, the maximum throughput per TiB is 52 MB/s. If the cluster capacity is greater than 576 TiB, the maximum throughput per TiB is 26 MB/s.

    Dedicated Block Storage Cluster Name

    The cluster name for identification.

    Cluster Performance Type

    Select Basic or Performance:

    • Basic: supports only PL0 ESSDs.

    • Performance: supports only PL1 ESSDs.

    See ESSDs.

    Duration

    The subscription duration.

  5. Confirm the fee and click Purchase Now.

The cluster is delivered within 20 business days after payment.

More operations

After a dedicated block storage cluster is created, you can view or modify its information.

  • View cluster information: You can view basic information, disk details, and monitoring data of a cluster.

    • In the cluster list, view the status, zone, and capacity. Click a cluster ID to open the details page.

    • If disks exist in the cluster, their information is displayed on the Disk Management tab.

    • On the Cluster Monitoring tab, view the capacity usage.

  • Modify cluster information: In the Actions column, select More > Modify Name.
