Last Updated:Mar 08, 2026

You can extend your dedicated block storage cluster if the capacity of the cluster does not reach the maximum capacity of 2,280 TiB and the remaining capacity is insufficient.

Before you begin

Make sure the following requirement is met:

  • The current cluster capacity is below the maximum limit of 2,280 TiB.

Billing

Extending a dedicated block storage cluster incurs additional fees based on the capacity you add. The added capacity shares the same expiration date as the original cluster, which means the cost is prorated for the remaining subscription period.

For detailed pricing, see Billing for extending the cluster capacity.

    1. Log on to the Elastic Block Storage console.

    2. In the navigation pane on the left, choose Enterprise-level Features > Dedicated Block Storage Cluster.

  3. Find the dedicated block storage cluster that you want to extend and choose More icon > Extend in the Actions column.

  4. In the right panel, set the capacity after the dedicated block storage cluster is extended and select the terms of service.
