    CentOS is a free, community-supported Linux distribution developed, distributed, and maintained by the CentOS Project community contributors. Alibaba Cloud regularly updates and releases CentOS image versions. The versions may include the latest operating system features, performance optimizations, updates to basic software packages, and security patches. This topic describes the versions and updates of CentOS images.

    Note

    By June 30, 2024, all CentOS versions reached the end of life (EOL). Alibaba Cloud discontinued support for CentOS, such as updated images, software updates, and security patches. If you remain on CentOS, your systems may be exposed to unpatched vulnerabilities and potential security breaches. If you have Elastic Compute Service (ECS) instances that run a CentOS version, we recommend that you understand the risks and perform the required operations to mitigate the impacts of CentOS EOL at the earliest opportunity.
