You can enable the update prohibition lock for your domain name to protect the domain registration information from being tampered with.
Background information
The update prohibition lock is a value-added domain name service provided by a domain name registrar. It protects the information about your domain name from being tampered with. The domain name information includes the domain name contact information, address, phone number, email address, Domain Name System (DNS) information, and IP address of the domain name registration server.
You must disable the update prohibition lock before you can modify the domain name information.
If your domain name is registered by Alibaba Cloud, you can enable the update prohibition lock for your domain name at any time. After you enable the update prohibition lock for a domain name, you can check the domain name status on the
WHOIS page. On the query result page, the domain name status is displayed as clientUpdateProhibited.
Procedure
Log on to the Alibaba Cloud Domains console.
On the Domain Names page, find the domain name for which you want to enable the update prohibition lock and click Manage in the Actions column.
In the left-side navigation pane, click Security Settings.
Click Enable in the Actions column of the Update Prohibition Lock item.
In the Confirm the operation. dialog box, complete the security verification.
Click Send Verification Code to obtain an email verification code.
Enter the email verification code and click Confirm.
