Data Transmission Service:Reset a DTS instance

Last Updated:Mar 28, 2026

Resetting a DTS instance clears its configuration and returns it to the Not Configured state so you can reconfigure it. This applies to data synchronization instances and change tracking instances.

Prerequisites

Before you begin, ensure that you have:

  • Completed the Advanced Settings step during instance configuration

  • An instance listed on the Data Synchronization Tasks or Change Tracking Tasks page

For setup references, see Overview of data synchronization scenarios and Overview of change tracking scenarios.

Usage notes

  • Pay-as-you-go instances continue to incur charges after reset.

  • Resetting an instance clears its configuration, including source and destination database credentials, selected objects to synchronize, and alert settings. Data in the source and destination databases is not affected.

  • Instances in the Prechecking, Locking, or Starting state cannot be reset.

Reset an instance

The following steps use a data synchronization instance as an example.

  1. Go to the Data Synchronization Tasks page.

    1. Log on to the Data Management (DMS) console.

    2. In the top navigation bar, click Data + AI.

    3. In the left-side navigation pane, choose DTS (DTS) > Data Synchronization.

Operations may vary based on the mode and layout of the DMS console. For more information, see Simple mode and Customize the layout and style of the DMS console. Alternatively, go directly to the Data Synchronization Tasks page of the new DTS console.
  2. On the right side of Data Synchronization Tasks, select the region where the instance resides.

In the new DTS console, select the region in the top navigation bar instead.
  3. Find the instance, click the 更多设置 icon in the Actions column, and select Reconfigure Task.

  4. In the Note message, review the usage notes and click OK.

The instance enters the Not Configured state and is ready to be reconfigured.

What's next

After reset, reconfigure the instance. For available configuration options, see Overview of data synchronization scenarios and Overview of change tracking scenarios.

For the corresponding API operation, see ResetDtsJob.

No. Only data synchronization instances and change tracking instances support reset.

Can I reset multiple instances at once?

No. Reset one instance at a time.
