DTS lets you return to the Configurations for Source and Destination Databases step to update the settings of a data synchronization or migration instance.
Change tracking instances do not support modifying task configurations.
Prerequisites
The instance must be in one of the following states:

| Not Started | The instance has not been started. To reach this state, configure the objects to be synchronized or migrated, then click Save and Return. |
| Precheck Passed | The instance completed the precheck successfully. |
| Precheck Failed | The instance failed the precheck. |
Modify the task configurations
The following steps use a data synchronization instance as an example. The steps for a migration instance are the same.
Go to the Data Synchronization Tasks page.
Method 1: Via the DMS console
Log on to the Data Management (DMS) console.
In the top navigation bar, click Data + AI.
In the left-side navigation pane, choose DTS (DTS) > Data Synchronization.
Operations may vary based on the mode and layout of the DMS console. For more information, see Simple mode and Customize the layout and style of the DMS console.
Method 2: Via the new DTS console
Go directly to the Data Synchronization Tasks page.
Select the region where the instance resides.

New DTS console: Use the region selector in the top navigation bar.
Find the instance and click Edit Task Settings in the Actions column. Alternatively, click the instance name, then click Edit Task Settings in the upper part of the page that appears.

FAQ
Can I modify the task configurations of a change tracking instance?
No. Change tracking instances do not support modifying task configurations.
How do I put a synchronization or migration instance into the Not Started state?
After configuring the objects to be synchronized or migrated, click Save and Return. The instance enters the Not Started state.
