You can change the billing method of a data synchronization or change tracking task to pay-as-you-go or subscription based on your business needs. This change does not affect the operation of the DTS instance.
Usage notes
In the new console, you can switch between the pay-as-you-go and subscription billing methods. In the previous-version console, you can only change the billing method from pay-as-you-go to subscription. We recommend that you use the new console.
The billing method for data migration tasks is pay-as-you-go only. You cannot change it.
If you want to convert a regular synchronization instance to a Serverless instance, see Convert a synchronization instance to a Serverless instance.
In the new console, the instance ID remains unchanged after you change the billing method. In the previous-version console, the instance ID changes.
After you change the billing method of an instance from subscription to pay-as-you-go, the remaining balance is refunded to your original payment method.
You cannot change the billing method for a data verification task.
Prerequisites
A DTS data synchronization, Serverless, or change tracking instance is created.
If you use the previous-version console to change the billing method from pay-as-you-go to subscription, you must prepare a subscription task to be the destination for the change. The task must meet the following requirements:
For data synchronization tasks, the Source Instance, Source Region, Destination Instance, Destination Region, and Synchronization Topology must be the same as those of the task being modified.
Change tracking task: The Source Region must be the same as those of the existing change tracking task.
