This topic describes how to change the billing method of a data synchronization or change tracking task to pay-as-you-go or subscription. This change does not affect the running of the Data Transmission Service (DTS) instance to which the task belongs.
Usage notes
In the latest DTS console, you can change the billing method from pay-as-you-go to subscription or the other way around. In the previous DTS console, you can change the billing method only from pay-as-you-go to subscription. We recommend that you use the latest DTS console.
The billing method of data migration tasks can be only pay-as-you-go. You do not need to change the billing method of data migration tasks.
A serverless instance supports only the pay-as-you-go billing method.
NoteThis feature is in canary release and available only to specific customers.
In the latest DTS console, the instance ID remains unchanged after you change the billing method. In the previous DTS console, the instance ID is changed after you change the billing method.
After you change the billing method of your instance from subscription to pay-as-you-go, a refund is returned based on the original payment method.
You can not change the billing method of a data verification task.
Prerequisites
A DTS synchronization instance, serverless instance, or change tracking instance is created.
Another data synchronization or change tracking task whose billing method is subscription is created if you use the previous DTS console to change the billing method of your task from pay-as-you-go to subscription. This subscription task meets the following requirements:
If you change the billing method of a data synchronization task, the following information of the subscription task must be the same as that of the data synchronization task: Source Instance, Source Region, Destination Instance, Destination Region, and Synchronization Topology.
If you change the billing method of a change tracking task, the Source Region of the subscription task must be the same as that of the change tracking task.
