Funnel models analyze conversion and churn in a multi-step process. They help you identify where users drop off and why. You can then improve conversion rates through product optimizations or operational activities.
This topic describes how to create a funnel, add steps, and configure the time window and dimensions for data calculation.
Prerequisites
Funnel analysis uses a funnel chart to show user progression and drop-off rates across a series of events in a specific flow. Before creating a funnel, you must configure the events associated with it. For more information, see Configure events.
About this task
Funnel analysis calculates the conversion rate between steps. When you create a funnel, you must configure at least two steps. Each step consists of an event and one or more filter conditions.
Funnel data is displayed on the next day (T+1).
Procedure
Log on to the mPaaS console and follow these steps:
In the navigation pane on the left, choose Mobile Analysis Service > Custom Analysis > Funnel Analysis.
In the upper-right corner of the page, click the Create a Funnel button and configure the following parameters:
Funnel Name: Required. Enter a name for the funnel.
Funnel Description: Optional. Enter a description for the funnel.
Time Window: Required. Select the maximum time allowed to complete all steps in the funnel.
NoteA conversion is successful if a user triggers the first step and then completes all subsequent steps within the specified time window.
Calculation Dimension: Required. Select User ID or Device ID.
NoteThis dimension is used to calculate statistics and deduplicate data.
Step 1: Required. Select the event for Step 1 from the list of configured events and add trigger conditions.
Step 2: Required. Select the event for Step 2 from the list of configured events and add trigger conditions.
NoteTo associate more steps, click Add Step and select events for Step 3 and subsequent steps from the list of configured events.
Click Submit to create the funnel.
The funnel data is displayed on the next day (T+1). On the Funnel Analysis page, click Details in the Actions column to view the funnel chart and the conversion rate line chart.
