Cloud Enterprise Network (CEN) provides a monitoring page where you can view information about resource usage. This topic describes how to view the following monitoring information about a CEN instance on the Charts tab: bandwidth plans, cross-region connections, Express Connect circuits associated with virtual router borders (VBRs), and traffic of network instances associated with transit routers.

Background information

CEN provides monitoring information about bandwidth plans, cross-region connections, Express Connect circuits, and network instances. By default, the Monitoring page displays monitoring data collected within the last hour. You can choose to view monitoring data collected within the last 3 hours, 6 hours, 12 hours, or the last day by selecting an option from the drop-down list in the upper-left corner of the Monitoring page. You can also specify a custom time period.

View monitoring information about a bandwidth plan

  1. Log on to CEN console.
  2. On the Instances page, find the CEN instance that you want to manage and click its ID.
  3. On the details page of the CEN instance, choose Charts > Bandwidth Plan Usage Monitoring.
  4. On the Bandwidth Plan Usage Monitoring tab, select a bandwidth plan and view the monitoring information.
    • Outbound Bandwidth by Region: the usage of the bandwidth plan. Unit: bit/s.
    • Percentage of Outbound Bandwidth by Region: the percentage of the used bandwidth to the total bandwidth.
Note On the Charts tab, you can view monitoring information only about bandwidth plans that are associated with the CEN instance. For more information about how to view monitoring information about other bandwidth plans, see Monitor a bandwidth plan.

View monitoring information about cross-region connections

  1. Log on to CEN console.
  2. On the Instances page, find the CEN instance that you want to manage and click its ID.
  3. On the details page of the CEN instance, choose Charts > Cross-region Bandwidth Monitoring.
  4. On the Cross-region Bandwidth Monitoring tab, select a cross-region connection and view the monitoring information about the bandwidth.
    • Outbound Bandwidth by Region: the bandwidth usage of the region connection. Unit: bit/s.
This metric consists of two items. For example, if Region A and Region B communicate with each other, the system displays the following information:
      • The bandwidth usage from Region A to Region B.
      • The bandwidth usage from Region B to Region A.
    • Percentage of Outbound Bandwidth: the percentage of the used bandwidth resources to the total bandwidth resources.
This metric consists of two items. For example, if Region A and Region B communicate with each other, the system displays the following information:
      • The percentage of A-to-B bandwidth resources to the total bandwidth resources.
      • The percentage of A-to-B bandwidth resources to the total bandwidth resources.
    • Latency: the network latency between connected regions. Unit: milliseconds.
    • Packet Loss Rate: the rate of packets dropped due to bandwidth throttling. Unit: packets per second (PPS).
This metric consists of two items. For example, if Region A and Region B communicate with each other, the system displays the following information:
      • The rate of packets dropped from Region A to Region B due to bandwidth throttling.
      • The rate of packets dropped from Region B to Region A due to bandwidth throttling.
Note You can view monitoring information about bandwidth for cross-region connections on the Charts tab or on the details page of a transit router. For more information, see Monitor cross-region connections.

View monitoring information about an Express Connect circuit

  1. Log on to CEN console.
  2. On the Instances page, find the CEN instance that you want to manage and click its ID.
  3. On the details page of the CEN instance, choose Charts > VBR Health Check.
  4. On the VBR Health Check tab, select a VBR associated with an Express Connect circuit and view monitoring information about the Express Connect circuit.
    • Outbound Bandwidth: the bandwidth for data transfer from Alibaba Cloud to your data center. Unit: bit/s.
    • Inbound Bandwidth: the bandwidth for data transfer from your data center to Alibaba Cloud. Unit: bit/s.
    • Latency: the network latency between Alibaba Cloud and your data center. Unit: milliseconds.
    • Packet Loss Rate: the packet loss rate of the data transfer between Alibaba Cloud and your data center.
    Note
    • By default, you can view the information about Outbound Bandwidth and Inbound Bandwidth of an Express Connect circuit on the Charts tab. If you want to view the Latency and Packet Loss Rate of the Express Connect circuit, configure health checks for the Express Connect circuit. For more information, see Manage health checks.
    • You can view monitoring information about an Express Connect circuit on the Charts tab or on the Health Check page. For more information, see Monitor an Express Connect circuit.

View monitoring information about instances associated with a transit router

Note You can view traffic of network instances that are associated with only Enterprise Edition transit routers. For more information about the regions that support Enterprise Edition transit routers, see Regions and zones that support Enterprise Edition transit routers.
  1. Log on to CEN console.
  2. On the Instances page, find the CEN instance that you want to manage and click its ID.
  3. On the details page of the CEN instance, choose Charts > Connected Instance Monitoring.
  4. On the Connected Instance Monitoring tab, select the region of the VBR and network instances associated with the VBR.
    • Outbound Rate of TR Connection: the data transfer rate from the transit router to the network instance. Unit: bit/s.
    • Inbound Rate of TR Connection: the data transfer rate from the network instance to the transit router. Unit: bit/s.
    • Bytes Dropped After TR Connects to Blackhole Routes: the rate of traffic that is dropped by blackhole routes when data is transferred from the network instance. Unit: bit/s.
