[Notice] Discontinuation of Database Gateway and further service plan

Alibaba Cloud Database Gateway is no longer available for purchase or renewal as of June 25, 2023, and was discontinued as an individual service on May 3, 2024. Database Gateway is now integrated into Data Management (DMS) and Data Transmission Service (DTS) as a basic component to provide third-party database access.

Before May 3, 2024, you can still use the Database Gateway console, submit tickets related to Database Gateway, and properly use the Alibaba Cloud services that support Database Gateway.
May 3, 2024: Database Gateway is discontinued as an individual service.

Further service plan

After discontinuation, Database Gateway is integrated into DTS, DBS, and DMS as a basic component. You can use the database gateway feature to connect DTS and DMS to third-party cloud databases or self-managed databases.
The Database Gateway console will be migrated to the DMS console. For more information, see Product Introduction.

Impact and suggestions

Use Database Gateway to connect databases to DTS, DBS, or DMS and manage the databases by using the features of DTS, DBS, or DMS.	Databases connected to DTS, DBS, or DMS through Database Gateway are not affected.	If you want to manage a database by using DTS, connect the database to Alibaba Cloud. For more information, see Connect an on-premises database or a database hosted on a third-party cloud to Alibaba Cloud by using Database Gateway. If you want to manage a database by using DBS, connect the database to Alibaba Cloud. For more information, see Use Database Gateway to back up on-premises databases or private databases on a third-party cloud to Alibaba Cloud. If you want to manage a database by using DMS, register the database in DMS. For more information, see Add a third-party or self-managed database.
Use the database access point feature of Database Gateway to access third-party cloud databases.	If you have purchased a database gateway, your business is not affected until Database Gateway is discontinued.	We recommend that you switch to a VPN gateway, Cloud Enterprise Network (CEN), or Express Connect circuit as soon as possible. For more information, see Manage VPC connections.
