Data Lake Formation:Compute resource fees

Last Updated:Oct 23, 2026

DLF lake table optimization and management operations consume compute resources and incur charges. This topic describes the billable operations, billing rules for pay-as-you-go usage and subscription plans, metering cycles, and regional unit prices to help you understand and estimate your costs.

Billable item

  • Description: You are charged for the compute units (CUs) consumed by lake table optimization and management operations. 1 CU = 1 vCPU + 4 GiB of memory. Billable operations include compaction, snapshot cleanup, partition cleanup, orphan file cleanup, and bucket rebalancing.

  • Billing methods: Pay-as-you-go is the default billing method. You are billed for actual resource usage after use. You can also purchase a subscription plan in advance. Usage is first deducted from the plan's allowance, and any excess usage is billed on a pay-as-you-go basis. This combination is called hybrid billing.

  • Metering cycle: Monthly for subscription; hourly for pay-as-you-go.

Unit prices
