Additional internal network bandwidth increases your bandwidth quota for uploading data to or downloading data from Data Lake Formation (DLF). If your existing quota does not meet the throughput requirements of batch writes (uploads) or concurrent reads by multiple compute jobs (downloads), you can increase the quota for that transfer direction. DLF bills additional internal network bandwidth based on the effective bandwidth quota rather than the volume of data transferred.
Billing rules
-
Pricing dimensions: Prices vary by region, storage redundancy type (locally redundant storage [LRS] or zone-redundant storage [ZRS]), and transfer direction (upload or download).
-
Transfer direction: Uploads (writes) transfer data into DLF. Downloads (reads) transfer data out of DLF. Each direction is priced separately.
-
Units of measurement: Bandwidth is measured in Gbps. The volume of data transferred is measured in GB.
-
Billing method: Additional internal network bandwidth is billed based on the effective configured quota and billing duration, with an hourly billing period. The hourly unit price is the monthly unit price divided by 720. Fee = Effective quota (Gbps) × Hourly unit price × Billing duration (hours).
Pricing by region
The following table lists monthly unit prices for additional internal network bandwidth in USD/Gbps/month. Billing is hourly, and the hourly unit price is the monthly unit price divided by 720.

Billing example
If you configure 2 Gbps of additional LRS download bandwidth in the China (Beijing) region and keep the configuration unchanged for 720 consecutive hours, the fee is approximately 2 × (510.20 ÷ 720) × 720 = USD 1,020.40. Fees for other transfer directions, redundancy types, and billable items are calculated separately.
Other billable items
Additional internal network bandwidth is billed separately from storage, PUT/GET requests, and caching. For pricing details, see Billing overview.
