Software edition purchase
For professional pre-sales purchase guidance, see DataWorks purchase guide.
Log on to the DataWorks edition (subscription) buy page to purchase DataWorks Standard, Professional, or Enterprise Edition. When purchasing DataWorks, pay attention to the following two parameters:
-
Region and zone: The region in which to activate DataWorks. You can purchase only one non-Basic Edition of DataWorks in the same region at the same time.
-
Duration: The duration for which the specified DataWorks edition is available.
We recommend that you select Auto-renewal upon expiration. Auto-renewal can be canceled at any time. For more information, see Renewal management.
Expiration and downgrade
Alibaba Cloud sends expiration notifications to the mobile phone number and email address associated with your Alibaba Cloud account on the 14th, 12th, and 8th day before your Standard, Professional, or Enterprise Edition expires.
If you do not renew your DataWorks Standard, Professional, or Enterprise Edition within 15 days after it expires, the edition is downgraded to Basic Edition on the 15th day after expiration. After the downgrade, features exclusive to the Standard, Professional, or Enterprise Edition become unavailable, but existing tasks continue to run normally. You must purchase a DataWorks Basic Edition to access the DataWorks console.
For information about the feature changes after a DataWorks edition is downgraded upon expiration, see Appendix: Feature changes after downgrade.
Edition upgrade and downgrade
DataWorks editions rank from lowest to highest: Basic, Standard, Professional, and Enterprise. If your current edition does not meet your business requirements, upgrade or downgrade as needed.
Upgrade impact and fees
You can upgrade from a lower edition to a higher edition. After the upgrade, features exclusive to the higher edition become available immediately. Running tasks are not affected. You pay the price difference for the remaining time in the current billing cycle.
Downgrade impact and fees
You can downgrade from a higher edition to a lower edition. After the downgrade, features exclusive to the higher edition become unavailable. The price difference for the remaining billing cycle is refunded. The impact is the same as described in Expiration and downgrade.
Upgrade and downgrade operations
Log on to the DataWorks console, and upgrade or downgrade as needed on the Purchased Resources and Services page.
Click the Subscription - Feature tab, and click Upgrade or Downgrade in the Actions column of the target instance.
The upgrade or downgrade takes effect immediately. No wait is required.
Renewal
If your DataWorks Standard, Professional, or Enterprise Edition is about to expire, you can renew it before expiration or within 360 hours after expiration. If you do not renew within 360 hours after expiration, features exclusive to the Standard, Professional, or Enterprise Edition are suspended.
Enable or disable auto-renewal through renewal management.
-
Log on to the DataWorks console. In the upper-right corner of the top navigation bar, click to go to the Renewal Management page.
-
On the Renewal Management page, select the DataWorks Edition (subscription) product category, and click Renew, Auto-Renewal, or Don't Renew in the Actions column.
If your Alibaba Cloud account has insufficient balance, the deduction fails and the renewal cannot be completed.
Unsubscription
All DataWorks editions support unsubscription. For details, see Unsubscription.
