DataWorks:ActionTrail

Last Updated:Mar 26, 2026

DataWorks integrates with ActionTrail to capture behavior events for your Alibaba Cloud account — recording who performed an action, what was done, and when. This FAQ covers how to retrieve and use those events for auditing, permission management, and node recovery.

How do I retrieve events that record operations performed in DataWorks?

ActionTrail captures DataWorks behavior events, including data downloads from the console. The last 90 days of events are available in the ActionTrail console without any additional configuration — use the console to search and filter events by user, action, or time.

To retain events beyond 90 days, or to set up monitoring and alerting, deliver them to a Logstore in Log Service or to an Object Storage Service (OSS) bucket. This supports long-term auditing, problem backtracking, and problem analysis. For step-by-step instructions, see Use ActionTrail to query behavior events.

What settings can I configure in advance to trace data leaks?

Enable the data watermark feature on the Data Masking page of Data Security Guard. This allows you to trace the users who may cause the data leaks.

For details on setting up de-identification rules, see Customize de-identification rules.

How can I audit permissions granted to a MaxCompute table?

Go to Security Center. On the Permission audit tab of the Data access control page, you can see which members have permissions on a table and when those permissions expire. To remove access, revoke permissions directly from that tab.

For details, see Audit permissions.

How do I restore a deleted node?

Open the Recycle Bin pane in DataStudio and restore the recently deleted node from there. DataWorks assigns a new ID to the restored node.

Node code recovery: You can use the recycle bin in Data Studio to restore recently deleted nodes. Note that when a node is restored, a new node ID is generated.

How do I compare node versions and roll back to an earlier version?

Double-click the node in DataStudio to open it. In the right-side pane, click Versions to view the version history. Select versions to compare them, then roll back to the earlier version if needed.

For more information, see Versions.
